The Alpinestars Tech-Air® 3 v2 is a fully autonomous, active airbag system designed for touring riders, urban commuters, and light off-road adventure enthusiasts. Engineered to be worn either over or under a motorcycle jacket, this lightweight and packable system offers versatile protection without requiring external connections or sensors on the motorcycle.
At the core of the Tech-Air® 3 v2 is Alpinestars' Pro 2nd Generation Electronic Control Unit (ECU). This system leverages advanced AI technology and a crash detection algorithm refined through millions of kilometers of riding data. With six integrated sensors—three accelerometers and three gyroscopes—the system accurately monitors dynamic riding situations and activates the protective airbag in milliseconds upon detecting a crash. Once deployed, the airbag provides comprehensive upper body protection, covering the rider's full chest and back.
Available in premium chassis constructions including stretch nylon canvas or soft cow leather, the vest is designed for maximum comfort. Features include a ribbed collar, elasticated side panels for expansion volume, and perforated panels for breathability. The system activates automatically via a magnetic zip closure and features a center zipper with internal magnet snap buttons to secure the chest bladder.

- Operational Status: A discrete LED display on the chest indicates the system's status, supported by a haptic alert that vibrates when the system is armed or the battery is low.
- Battery Life: Integrated lithium-ion battery provides up to 40 hours of riding time with a recharge time of approximately four hours.

- Practical Design: Includes zippered hand pockets, chest pockets with a sunglasses channel, and a waist loop for gloves. The system is packable for easy storage in panniers or backpacks.
- Maintenance: The gas inflator housing, wiring, and airbag are removable. Inflator canisters can be replaced by certified Tech-Air Service Centers.
