Overview
The Corsair-X Helmet represents the pinnacle of head protection, engineered with a focus on "Glancing Off" properties and rider comfort. Featuring an intermediate oval shape designed to fit the majority of head shapes in the North American market, this helmet combines advanced safety technology with intuitive functionality for all seasons and riding styles.
At the core of its protection is the PB-SNC² Shell, created from super fiber and synthetic reinforcing fibers. This construction provides exceptional tensile strength and flexibility while remaining lightweight. The shell uses a specialized Z Resin to bond layers more securely, while an internal structural net and peripheral belt further strengthen the helmet. The smooth shell design along the Snell test line and a smaller, lower VAS pivot cover enhance the helmet's ability to glance off objects during an impact, minimizing rotational force.
The Variable Axis System (VAS) Shield Mechanism incorporates a moving pivot point, allowing the shield to open and close smoothly even with a lower mounting position. A dual-function lever releases both the side cover and shield pin for quick, simple removals. The VAS latch captures and securely holds the shield closed to prevent unexpected opening, featuring a larger design for intuitive operation even with heavy gloves. Visibility is prioritized with the standard VAS Max Vision shield and an included clear Pinlock® insert.
Climate control is managed through a sophisticated ventilation system. The IC Duct5 features a three-position switch to limit water intrusion and road noise when closed, while providing significant airflow when open. Diffuser Type 12 air intake vents improve sealing and aerodynamics. Internally, a dedicated air channel pulls hot, moist air from the eye port area through ducted channels behind the cheek pads to exhaust out the side cowl vents, keeping the rider cool and reducing fogging. All external vents are designed to be frangible, ensuring they break away easily during an impact to prevent snagging.
The interior features a fully removable, odor-resistant liner that helps maintain a neutral pH level close to the skin. For a personalized fit, the soft frame material includes removable temple padding and a replaceable crown pad, ensuring maximum comfort on long rides.
