By increasing the space of the EPS liner from front to back while decreasing it side-to-side, this design provides a superior fit for those with a narrower head shape and a more pronounced forehead. The shell utilizes Peripherally Belted - Super Complex Laminate Construction (PB-SCLC), combining advanced materials and techniques to deliver high-performance protection and affordability.
At the heart of its safety features is the Variable Axis System (VAS) shield mechanism. By lowering the pivot point by an average of 24 mm, the shell surface in the critical temple area is significantly smoother, enhancing the helmet's ability to reduce impact energy. The integrated VAS latch captures and securely holds the shield closed to prevent unexpected openings, while the intuitive design allows for seamless operation and an effective de-mist function.
Ventilation and comfort are prioritized through a sophisticated airflow system. The QVF three-position intake and QVR exhaust ducts provide excellent performance during any ride; even when the front shutter is closed on the top duct, a side vent continues to serve as an effective exhaust. Inside, the odor-resistant liner material resists bacteria build-up to keep the helmet fresh, while the water-repellent, removable ES chin cover enhances the aerodynamic shape and increases exhaust from the mouth area.
The interior features FCS (Facial Contour System) Cheek Pads. These contoured pads use multiple layers of varying foam densities supported by a foam "spring" to cradle the face, effectively blocking wind noise and improving the overall seal.
