Anatomically engineered and profiled specifically for youth and younger riders, the SM3 Youth helmet is optimized for MX, Enduro, and Off-road use. It features a range of technologies and innovations derived from professional adult helmets to deliver the optimal blend of performance, protection, and comfort for the next generation of riders.
This lightweight helmet features a thermo-injected shell incorporating a special polymer blend enhanced by varying degrees of thickness. This engineering delivers the optimal combination of impact protection and light weight. The outer shell is constructed from a technologically advanced impact-resistant thermoplastic. The DOT certified version of the inner shell is constructed with a composite fiber assembled between the outer shell and the EPS liner for maximum protection against impacts. To ensure a precision fit, the crown and cheek pads are available in different thicknesses to accommodate growing riders.
Safety is prioritized through a multiple density inner liner that ensures the correct density in specific areas for enhanced impact absorption. The inner and outer surfaces are engineered to minimize the effects of oblique impacts, featuring a patented low friction coating on the EPS liner. This layer acts as a slip plane to reduce rotational acceleration forces, mimicking the body’s natural defenses. Additionally, a patented visor release system ensures the visor is released with a pre-determined amount of force to reduce strain on the rider’s neck during an impact.
For rider convenience, hydration tube channels are integrated into the cheek pads. The comfort liner is constructed using recycled materials for a lower carbon footprint, while the extensive ventilation system features 10 inlets and seven exhaust ports to maximize airflow and heat transfer.
